Jessica Lieffers is a Dietitian and has been an Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan since 2017. She completed her BSc, dietetic internship and MSc at the University of Alberta, and her PhD at the University of Waterloo. At the University of Saskatchewan, she currently teaches in the BSc Nutrition program in the area of professional practice. In her NUTR 230 course (Professional Practice I), all students participate in the First Year Research Experience (FYRE) program where they conduct survey research on nutrition and food topics in the University of Saskatchewan campus community. She is a co-author on more than 35 peer-reviewed publications on various topics related to nutrition and dietetic practice. Much of her current research is in the area of nutrition and oral health and is funded by the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation and the Canadian Foundation for Dietetic Research. She is also currently a member of the Board of Editors for the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
